Frequently Asked Questions

  • Taking the time to attend a one-year Bible School provides a meaningful foundation for your life that is built on the Gospel and a deep understanding of the God's Word. This knowledge will solidify your worldview and give you solid footing as you explore the next steps God has for your life. Many people spend 2-4 years preparing for their career (whether in college or in a training program) - consider taking one year to build your faith in God first.

  • NSBS provides a transcript with clock hours earned in various Biblical Studies topics (see "Courses" or our course catalog for more info). • NSBS is unique in that it is the only academic-focused one-year Biblical education program in Alaska. Our program is meant for all students, not just those who may want to pursue full-time ministry. We are able to provide an intensive education from a variety of skilled teachers who travel in to teach courses each week. Our location provides a perfect opportunity for building a special on-campus community in a rural setting by going on many backcountry adventures right out our front door, while still providing easy access to amenities and local churches in town.

  • NSBS is able to host up to 40 students each year. Each dorm room has it's own bathroom, and is set up for 3-5 students each.

  • NSBS is located just down the road from Hatcher Pass, which is a great spot for hiking, camping, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmachine-riding, fishing, and many other activities. Our campus is built on the shores of a lake, and students love to kayak, canoe, paddleboard, ice skate, and play broomball or hockey. We have plenty of games and student activities on-campus, and many other adventures can be had within driving distance of campus.

  • We offer comfortable 5-bed dorm rooms, each with their own bathroom. We have laundry facilities on-site, and students are welcome to bring their own vehicles. Our program is designed to build a strong community among all of the students and staff living on campus. Students eat meals together, attend the same classes together, and participate in the same campus activities together. Students will also attend and serve in local churches in groups, and participate in on-campus small groups for discipleship. Students who go through our program will build life-long friendships during their time at NSBS.

  • The complete price for the year is $10,000. This covers all tuition, housing, food, and other related fees. Scholarships are available. More information can be found on the Tuition & Fees page.

  • NSBS is a program designed for 18-25 year old young adults. We fully believe that any young adult can see extreme benefit from attending a one-year Bible school. Taking a year to devote your life to building your faith in Christ before you start your next chapter will dramatically impact every area of your life for the better.

  • We are able to accept international applicants. Applications from countries outside the U.S.A. and Canada must be submitted by APRIL 30. All international applications (including those from Canada) are subject to a $400 international processing fee, which is due at the time of acceptance.
